It's an understatement to say that colors have been dominant this season, but perhaps one of the biggest and brightest stars of them all is the color pink. Inspired by the Isabel Marant SS'11 collection of lace-up pink shorts and biker trousers, I fell in love with the idea of pink denim shorts immediately. Unfortunately, (and to the relief of the bf) I could not imagine emptying my wallet on an actual pair of Isabel Marant pink lace up shorts, but I found these to bear a fair resemblance.

Whenever we do photo shoots, I usually make the effort to match the scenery with my outfit. I like to mix up the ingredients of each post and have everything interrelate. Seeking a new place usually turns out to be quite an adventure, and has really helped us discover hidden treasures in our city that we would normally pass by leaving them unnoticed. Near downtown, there is a cove of elegant lofts that overlook the skyline and a picturesque city park. The area seems like a chic dream to live in. It is also a perfect spot just to take simple spring photos. 

P.S. On a side note, we went to the Velvet Monkey Salon fashion show last night to support our friend and fellow blogger, Liz, who was part of the runway. It's always such a stellar experience to go to local fashion events and see the amazing designs, makeup art, and hairstyling that people around us generate.
