Ever since I was young, I have been fascinated with ghost towns and ancient cities. There is something about the mysterious stories the old walls hold, and the untold past that seems to be whispered in the desolate streets that once were occupied. The closest we have to old tales in my city are abandoned buildings and lots that are merely fifty or sixty years young. But despite how many years they have been neglected, they all have a narrative, like this deserted gas station. It caught my eye one day when we were driving by, and I wanted to capture the beauty of the forsaken place.
This year, my sister Jennifer, and I had decided to get a pair of coveted shoes for each other for our birthdays. Even though our birthday is a few months away, Jennifer decided to surprise me early. Viola! Meet the trenchant, Sam Edelman Lorissa heel. Leather, jewels, and studs, equate to total obsession. I wish I could run around in these all day without creating a scene. However, I think that is the entire reason for the existence of these shoes. Spiked eye candy, right?
